How Do You Know if Google has Crawled your website

Sometimes I get this question to some of my friends online who are not really certain if Google has crawled their website. One friend asked me if how you would know if Google crawled your website, simple question with simple answer. I will give you tutorial on how to check if Google crawled your website. There are actually two steps on checking it thru Google’s search box.

Step 1

First. Go to Google.com

Second. At the search box, type site:yourwebsite.com

Third. The search result should give you all the indexed page of your website.

Note: You can also add a backslash with the sub-directory path so that only all the sub-directories will be shown on the search result. Example is site:yourwebsite.com/example/. That will give you just the stuff about “example” on all yourwebsite.com website. It can help you filter so you can avoid the items you don’t want to see on your search result.

Step 2

First. Go to Google.com

Second. Type your website at the search box

Third. On the search results, you will notice there’s a link named “Cached” next to your domain name. Click on it and you will see the date of the last time Google Crawled your website.

With the steps provided, this should help the webmaster know if Google is crawling his website and the last time it was crawled.

Intensedebate Problem: Exporting back to Blogger

Intensedebate has been my blog’s primary commenting system since last year. I installed it because I envied a lot the Wordpress commenting system. Also, Blogger’s commenting system is not that user friendly. I was really happy with the result of installing Intensedebate on my blog not until I realize that some of its functions were not working. Commenting using Intensedebate is easy but sometimes, ID doesn’t show up in some of my posts. I don’t know exactly why but that’s what’s happening in some of my blog post. Right now, I have been researching some articles on reverting back to the original commenting system of Blogger without losing the comments my readers have left using Intensedebate.

I haven’t found any help online not even from the FAQ of ID. I tried to export from ID and downloaded the XML file and when I checked on it, it’s not a very big help not even a bit of a help. Right now I am going crazy about this issue on my blog because I really wanted to remove it ASAP. I tried to contact the support team of ID and here’s what they told me, “Thanks for the feedback. This is on our roadmap, although I don't have a specific date for when this will be available. At the moment there are some technical limitations that prevent us from doing this but it's something that we hope to offer.” I don’t know what it means about their roadmap since I haven’t seen any updates from them since the day I installed it in my blog. On their FAQ, they also said that they don’t have a specific date for when will be exporting from Intensedebate to Blogger will become available for their registrants. That FAQ was posted last 2009 and it is 2012 now. 3 years of working on that matter and still no update. I’m creating this post as a registrant of Intensedebate and I’m telling the world how satisfied I am about their service.

I think Disqus is better because it’s easy to install and it has a mobile version. So your readers can also post a comment on mobile phone. So if only I have an option to export all my reader’s comments to Disqus, I am definitely gonna do that as soon as possible. I have tried to uninstall ID on my blog but it damaged my blog’s template so I’ll have to stay with their codes. Maybe next time if the exporting to blogger option will be available, I will uninstall their scripts on my template and try to fix some of the damages.

So to those Blogger users who are planning to shift from the original Blogger commenting system to Intensedebate, I suppose you better think about it first and try to have some research about Intensedebate. That’s all for today because Mayan Calendar is ending. Hehe.

Social Networking websites has been very helpful to most of the bloggers now all over the world. The most popular in this field is Facebook. Social Networking site is sometimes called Social Bookmarking site. Social Networking sites are being used by most people to communicate with their friends and family. Since people are into Social Networking site, we bloggers can take advantage of it. Thru these Social Networking or Bookmarking websites, we can share pictures, videos and links. Submitting your blog post entry to this website can possibly provide you load of visitors. That’s where we get traffic now. Commonly used platforms are Facebook, Twitter, Technorati, StumbleUpon, Digg, Reddit and so many more. As you can see here in my blog, I have a list of referring websites and number one in the rank is visitors from StumbledUpon. In my Google Analytics report, it is Google and StumbleUpon who contributed so much traffic in my blog. So to those who have just started blogging, I think submitting your links and letting your readers share your blog posts to this Social Networking sites can be very helpful to get traffic and also to generate income if you are serving ads on your blog.

Why did I became Non-Exclusive Member from a Glitterati Member in Nuffnang?

For how many months, my account in Nuffnang was a Glitterati. It's an exclusive membership in Nuffnang where you get loads of features compared to a non-exclusive member. I tried logging to Innit, a Glitterati-only section in Nuffnang, but I wasn't able to log in because it says I am no longer a Glitterati member. I wonder why my account fell down from Glitterati to a non-exclusive. This will really affect the Nuffnang ads appearing in my blogs that's why I am a bit disappointed about what happened. I already sent an email to Nuffnang regarding this matter. I hope everything's gonna be fixed soon.

Submitting Your Website Or Blog To Web Directories

SEO is one of the greatest tools that we use to generate traffic in our website or blog. META tags, URL Submission, Exchanging Links, Web or blog directories etc. are examples of SEO. Right now, let’s talk about Online Directories. An online directory is a place where people find information about a certain website or a blog. In our daily life, when we want to call a certain business entity or if we want to order a pizza, we get their telephone number from a Telephone Directory. Online Directory does the same as the telephone directory. As a website owner or a blogger, what you can do is you can submit your website to some online directories. Most people are bookmarking Online Directories for future preferences.
