Four fishes for dinner
Poverty is one of the great problems our country needs to overcome. In Biliran province alone, major population is in the poverty level. I have an Aunt who's a nutritionist and in Region 7 and said that Biliran Province is at the top 5 that has the most number of malnourished children.

When I had a week vacation in Naval, I always eat my meal at the Red Stone Ville. It’s a small resort owned by A & S Corporation. It’s almost Sunset when I saw some kids fishing on the stony part of the sea shore. I approach them and asked if how was the catch. They said that they were already there since 10AM and hasn’t caught any promising fish for their meal. They only got few small fishes probably not enough for most of us but enough to complete their meal for the day. While talking to them, I never thought that they would be very enthusiastic in sharing their stories to me. One kid told me that this day is not a very lucky day for them but still they will strive for more catch.

Life is really hard for them and but still they are eager and willing to survive. At a young age, they already started to work for their food. One good thing is that they don’t lose hope and they have the courage to stand in their own feet.

Quirino Grandstand Hostage Drama Photos

Posted by Boffill Wednesday, August 25, 2010
I noticed that there are some people searching for photos of the tragic hostage drama in Quirino Grandstand last August 23, 2010. Some stumbled my blog for photos and information about the hostage drama. I gathered some pictures of the hostage drama from the internet. Some photos are very heartbreaking and some are a very big DISMAY. Some of the photos here are from Students who I suppose doesn't know how humilliating it is taking pictures of this tragic event. I know that this is very awful and just like Reigno Jose Dilao did, I want to apologize to the whole world about what happened. Just click on the photo to enlarge. The second to the last photo that has a Chinese character below it came from a Chinese website.

Jelly Lens -- Mobile Phone Camera Lens

Posted by Boffill Wednesday, December 16, 2009
Few weeks before, I have been continuing my search of a lens for my mobile phone's camera. Been wanting to have one since I'm into photography too. There's a lot of option available over the internet but I don't have credit card to buy them online. And those lenses are only available overseas. So, that's gonna cost me the price of the product plus the shipping fee. I'm done with the local malls. A forum member at Symbianize once told me that there's an available Optical Lens for Mobile Phone in Mall of Asia. I went there and find the store but didn't have any luck at all. Then I went back online to find some lens again.
Jelly Lens - Share on Ovi

Searched at Google about "Lens for N82" and it gave me a lot of results. Then one result struck me saying Jelly Lens for your Mobile Phone and Camera. I checked on it and I thought that its cool. Its a fancy little lens that you have to mount at the lens of your mobile phone. You can even use this on your camera phone. I bought 4 Jelly lenses at a local mall. One is for Macro, the other one is for Fish Eye, the third one is for Spark and the last one is Polarizer. I am really enjoying the Macro lens and the Fish Eye lens. I was so amazed that this fancy little lens can be able to satisfy my need. The Fish Eye is good for lomography too. The only con that I have noticed is that the jelly loses its stickiness fast and also, it doesn't fit that good in the lens of my N82 phone. I'm so jealous with my friend's phone because my lens fits well on their phone. So I'm planning to buy a low-end mobile phone but have a good camera for me to use the lens on them. I already have a sample shots in my Facebook account.

Use Camera Phone for Macro Shot

Posted by Boffill Thursday, August 27, 2009

Using camera phone for Macro shots? This question was really impossible to me before but when I saw this hack at Engadget, this answered my question. Here's how, you need to have a lens from a broken DVD Player or VCD Player. You need to use small piece of carton for the len's assembly. Of course, you need to have a Camera Phone too. Mine, I am using N82. All you need to do is to put the lens over your Camera Phone's lens. A friend from Symbianize used a lens from his broken VCD Player and the results are like microscopic shots! Check on the images below for some screenshot.

Do you want to know if your Images are stolen?

Posted by Boffill Friday, December 12, 2008
TinEye is a reverse image search engine. You can submit an image to TinEye to find out where it came from, how it is being used, if modified versions of the image exist, or to find higher resolution versions. TinEye is the first image search engine on the web to use image identification technology rather than keywords, metadata or watermarks.

What is TinEye?

TinEye is the first image search engine on the web to use image identification
technology. Given an image to search for, TinEye tells you where and how
that image appears all over the web--even if it has been modified.

Just as you are familiar with entering text in a regular search engine
such as Google to find web pages that contain that text, TinEye lets
you submit an image to find web pages that contain that image.

Where can I find out more?

For the latest news and info about TinEye, check out our blog at

Steering Wheel

Camera: Nokia N82 w/ Carl Seiz Optics (5MP)

Here's another shot from my N82. Just got this shot yesterday. I was driving my auntie's car and we went to this flower shop to buy some stuffs for her little garden outside her house. I stayed on the car and wait for her until she's done. I was so bored so I pulled out my phone and made some shots. I didn't realize that I got this beautiful angle from the car's steering wheel. I simply like this photo.

Its too hard for me to take a picture thinking that maybe this old fellow beside me will be irritated of what am I doing. I am only using my phone to take some photos and I am afraid to be embarassed by the stewardess inside the plane. So I was like hiding my phone and I need to take a snap from my sit. Luckily, I got this one and only photo from the plane that I'm on. Though its simple, I still love this photo since there's a thrill when I took this picture. I just hope ya'll appreciate this. :D

Flower Shot

Posted by Boffill Monday, August 4, 2008

Here is another sample of a photo taken by my N82. This flower was displayed in a mall near our office. Me and my officemates were walking to find a place where we can eat our lunch and we saw this flowers displayed on the side of the aisle. We were actually looking for some things to buy for a gift to my boss's girl and he was planning of buying a flower. They were busy talking to the sales lady and I was busy taking pictures of this lovely flower. Positioning my phone to have a very great composition. This is one of the feature that I love from my N82's camera, its Auto-Focus. I just love taking pictures of miniature objects or subjects in close up mode. One of the reason why I love my phone's camera. :D

Boffill's Ambigram

Posted by Boffill Thursday, April 10, 2008

This is an Ambigram of my Name. A friend from Symbianize made me this ambigram. His username there is iCon. I first saw Ambigrams on "The Da Vinci Code" both Movie and the book. Swastika of Hitler is an example of an ambigram also. As for my own understanding, ambigram is a word or phrase or picture that if you will invert it upside down, the same image or word will appear that its as if you did not invert the picture.

Sunset at Agta Beach Resort

Posted by Boffill Tuesday, April 1, 2008

This picture was shot at Agta Beach Resort, Biliran Province, Philippines. This is one of my favorite shot. That 2 kid on the picture is actually my cousins. They belong to the youngest generations of my cousins. This was shot about 5pm. I was just amazed of the sunset and felt relaxed of the view. I am really enjoying shotting sceneries though I know i'm not good at it. I'm just a noob in photography but yet I am really practicing this skill coz I know that I can be a better photographer someday. This is really one of my frustrations in life. I don't have a very nice camera but still i'm trying my best to produce a good and quality picture from my old school camera. I hope you guys like it. :) Another photo of Agta Sunset Shot here.
