Smart All-IN 250
Smart All-IN 250, big X!
Last month, I mentioned about this “cool” new feature from Smart Telecommunications called Mega All-in 250. The promo offers unlimited text to all mobile networks (Smart, TNT, Sun, Globe and TM), 180 minutes calls to Smart, Talkntext and Sun Cellular and 100MB of mobile internet browsing. You can enjoy this offer for only Php250. I’m currently locked to Smart’s postpaid plan 599 with unlimited call and text to Smart and TalkNText. I never really had a chance of trying this offer and if given a chance, I would love to try it though. It’s really promising and a mouth watering offer from Smart. Personally, if I’d choose the Mega All-in 250 to my current postpaid plan, I’d go for Mega All-in 250 because it’s cheaper and I seldom call my friends and colleagues and even family. My friends enjoyed the unlimited calls anyway. Just recently, I read about this rant posted by a certain user from the forum where I’m very active about this Mega All-in 250. She was subscribed to this promo and was enjoying it at first. When she wanted to use the free 100MB Mobile browsing, she was prompted if she would like to install the Facebook mobile application and browse faster. She installed the mobile application and was still surfing. She was multitasking from browser to an application and to another application for more than an hour. Here goes the insane tactics from Smart, she checked her prepaid balance and noticed that her Php50 extra load was now missing. Doubled checked the balance and still no Php50 showing on her prepaid load. She called the customer service (*888) of Smart and asked if she was browsing normally or tried to browse the Internet using a Java application. She clarified by asking if using Java application is different from other surfing and was told by the agent that YES and was suppose to use the regular browser of her mobile phone only. It was emphasized by the agent that if she uses Java Application, she’ll be charge the regular rate for mobile browsing which is Php10/30minutes. She asked for a Supervisor since the regular agent was no help and still she was told that Smart’s regulation state that using the Java application is beyond Mega All-in 250. She asked if where she can find such reminder since it wasn’t told on the confirmation message sent by Smart when she registered for the promo and was answered “It’s our regulation Maam”. You see the catch here? You will register to their very promising promo and if you use a different application aside from the regular browser of your mobile phone, you will be charged by the regular rate of their mobile Internet. They should’ve told their customers at the very first place that Java applications or a 3rd party application is beyond Mega All-in 250. I hope NTC (National Telecommunications Commission) will investigate this incident. I know she’s not the only one who was tricked by Smart with this promo, let your voice be heard by posting a comment below and I’m hoping that Smart will do the necessary actions for this incident.
