Nokia E-Cu (E for Environment and Cu for Copper) is a mobile phone concept by Patrick Hyland is a charger free mobile phone. The idea of this concept is to eliminate the use of a mobile phone charger.


As we all know, mobile phone charger uses electricity and can produce 51,000 tons of waste added to the greenhouse gases. Inside the phone is a thermogenerator that converts heat energy to electric energy.

The case is made of copper that has engraved heat sinks with a dried earth design. This concept phone can be charged by anything that can be a good source of heat example is a your palm, radiator or just simply put it inside your pocket.
