FAQ's

How and where does it work?

Anyone with email can send a message of up to about 450 characters to addresses in this format: mobilenumber@mail2.ph (Ex. for someone with the mobile number 0919-232-5871 [+63919-232-5871], just email 09192325871@mail2.ph [639192325871@mail2.ph]). Email users from anywhere in the world can send text messages to the Philippines.

How much does it cost?

Sending to Mail2.ph addresses is free.

Do I have to register to use it?

The Mail2.ph service currently does not require any registration.

How do I get started?

Just write mobilenumber@mail2.ph In the "To:" field, and your short initial message then send. We recommend that, for your initial message, you indicate who you are and what specific action you would like the recipient to take (Ex. "This is Marie. Any news there? Please text me back. I hope you receive this whole message. I'm using this new service called Mail2.ph."). A mobile phone user who replies to your email address is considered to give consent to receive more messages from you.

How does a recipient reply to the messages I have sent?

If the mobile user receives an email from the sender for the first time, the recipient will receive a "Reply G to get full message..." footer at the end of the introductory message. Once the he/she has replied with G, and reads the following text containing the full message, that person can merely press the reply button, type in a message, and press send. Philippine mobile phone users are typically charged Php 2.50 for each time they reply.

How many messages can I send and how long can they be?

You can send as much as you need for as long as the recipient replies and doesn't block you. You can send multiples of 160 characters without any problem. Each day you are allowed to send 3 first-time, unreplied emails per operator. However, you can send as many messages as you need to a mobile phone that has replied to your message. After a Philippine mobile phone has replied to your message, he/she is typically charged Php 2.50 for each message you send and can receive your messages with no limit.

What mobile number formats should I use to send messages?

Either format, with Country Code (639192325871@mail2.ph), or without Country Code (09192325871@mail2.ph), may be used for this service.

How about privacy?

Mail2.ph does not store, archive or read your emails. We do not send, sell, lease or share your email address with third parties for commercial use.
